Planned Giving

The Newseum’s Legacy Society was formed to honor individuals who demonstrate their deep commitment to the work and mission of the Newseum by including the Newseum in their estate plans. Members are invited to special Newseum events and programs and, with their permission, are recognized in Newseum publications.

Please help the Newseum continue to raise public awareness of the power of the First Amendment and the critical role a free press plays in a free society by including the Newseum in your will or naming the Newseum as a beneficiary of your life insurance.

Legacy Society members receive:

  • A membership certificate
  • Recognition, with your permission, online and in the Annual Report
  • Invitations to special events

A bequest can be in the form of a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate or a residual amount after your estate provides for your other beneficiaries. Click here for bequest language and frequently asked questions.

The Development Office will be happy to provide you with additional information on planned-giving options. We also recommend that you consult with your lawyer and/or financial adviser as you formulate your estate plans. We will be happy to work with these individuals to ensure that your wishes are carried out.

If you already have included the Newseum in your estate plan, please let us know. We want to thank you for your planned gift.
